Raymond Gomez, a Puerto Rico native and linguist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, brings not only the ability to break down the communication barrier but also familiarity navigating the island for USACE teams conducting their work throughout Puerto Rico. Gomez was helping out in San Juan on Dec. 24, as a quality assurance engineer conducted inspections on temporary generators installed in the area. With more than 1,000 generators installed throughout the island, the work is crucial to ensure power flows uninterrupted to the critical facilities they are connected to.
