SAN DIEGO (Oct. 4, 2017) – Sailors aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), gather for a photo with U.S. Navy veterans Ray Chavez and his daughter, Kathleen, during a Habitat for Humanity community relations (COMREL) event. The COMREL was an opportunity for Sailors to renovate the home of retired Chief Quartermaster Ray Chavez, the oldest living survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
