SAN DIEGO (Oct. 4, 2017) – Hull Maintenance Technician 2nd Class Raymond Gorospe, a Sailor aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), measures the length of wood to install a new fence during a Habitat for Humanity community relations (COMREL) event. The COMREL was an opportunity for Sailors to renovate the home of retired Chief Quartermaster Ray Chavez, the oldest living survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
