170920-N-MC499-018 CARIBBEAN SEA (Sept. 20, 2017) Quartermaster 2nd Class Brenda Lengcy makes calculations for entry in the deck log on the bridge of the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) during a replenishment-at-sea with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS William McLean (T-AKE 12). Kearsarge is assisting with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
