U.S. Army Soldiers load gear into a tour bus before riding to Forward Operating Base Panther, Ind., March 13. More than 1,400 service members traveled to Camp Atterbury to participate in the exercise. Exercise Vibrant Response is a training event for the chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosive consequence management response force. The exercise focuses on Department of Defense support of civil authorities in a consequence management role. The CCMRF is part of DoD's scalable response capability to assist civilian responders in saving lives, relieving human suffering and mitigating great property damage in response to a catastrophic CBRNE incident.
