URASOE CITY, OKINAWA, Japan— A young man performs the traditional Eisa dance during “The Picture Scrolls of the Three Great Urasoe Kings” in the 40th Annual Tedako Matsuri Festival July 22 in Urasoe City, Okinawa, Japan. The Eisa dance is a form of folk dance originating in Okinawa. During this festival, respects are paid to King Eiso, a powerful king of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
