SHOALWATER BAY TRAINING AREA, QUEENSLAND, Australia, (July 15, 2017) – Master Sgt. David C. Carrier, Landing Force Operations Center Watch Chief of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is last to board an MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) for insertion ashore as the senior enlisted Marine of the 31st MEU’s Forward Command Element, operating in support of Talisman Saber 17, July 15, 2017. True to its name, the FCE often inserts in advance of the rest of the force. Talisman Saber is a biennial exercise designed to improve the interoperability between Australian and U.S. forces.
