SHOALWATER BAY TRAINING AREA, QUEENSLAND, Australia, (July 15, 2017) – 1st Lt. Shakir S. Robinson, Maintenance Management Officer of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, waits to board an MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) for insertion ashore as part of the 31st MEU’s Forward Command Element, operating in support of Talisman Saber 17, July 15, 2017. True to its name, the FCE often inserts in advance of the rest of the force. Talisman Saber is a biennial exercise designed to improve the interoperability between Australian and U.S. forces.
