Louisiana National Guard Soldiers of the 2225th Multi-Role Bridge Company, 225th Engineer Brigade, conduct patch training on the Aqua Dam system during the Disaster Relief Exercise at the Bonnet Carre Spillway, St. Charles Parish, April 1, 2017. Aqua Dams are water filled cofferdams that are used for flood control and protection. The Louisiana National Guard's ability to respond quickly to emergency situations is essential to saving lives and protecting property. By conducting simulated air, water and ground search and rescue operations, the LANG is ensuring that its Soldiers and Airmen are prepared to move and execute when disaster strikes. This Disaster Response Exercise also allows the LANG to further refine its coordination efforts with local, state and federal agencies. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Spc. Cody Wolfgang Kellum)
