Lance Cpl. William Branch, 21, from Miami, Fla., smiles as he is promoted to the rank of corporal aboard Forward Operating Base Zeebrugge, Oct. 1. Branch, a field artillery cannoneer Crewman with India Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, has fulfilled several billets while deployed to Kajaki and has successfully been a part of numerous patrols to push the enemy away from the Kajaki Dam. Branch has been operating in Kajaki for several months and soon will be preparing for his return to Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center 29 Palms, Calif., with the rest of his battery.
