Lance Cpl. Kevin Ivie, 24, from Paris, Ky., and Lance Cpl. William Branch, 21, from Miami, Fla., were both promoted to the rank of corporal aboard Forward Operating Base Zeebrugge, Oct. 1. Both Marines are field artillery cannoneer crewmen with India Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2. While in Kajaki, the Marines of India Battery, along with Ivie and Branch, have kept the area around the Kajaki Dam safe from insurgent activity and have continued to push the enemy further and further from the district.
