USS SOMERSET, At Sea (Jan. 13, 2017) – U.S. Marine Cpl. Ryan Thompson, a reconnaissance Marine with the Maritime Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, unloads and shows clear after conducting a firing drill with his M45A1 pistol on the flight deck of the USS Somerset (LPD 25) at sea, Jan. 13, 2017. Reconnaissance Marines work on shooting drills even while underway at sea to maintain their proficiency with the weapon systems they carry into combat.
