USS SOMERSET, At Sea (Jan. 13, 2017) – U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Joshua Firth, an explosive ordnance disposal technician with the Maritime Raid Force, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, rehearses drawing his pistol from his holster to ensure his natural point of aim is consistent when he sites in on the target with his M45A1 pistol on the flight deck of the USS Somerset (LPD 25) at sea, Jan. 13, 2017. Maritime Raid Force Marines work on drawing from the holster to build muscle-memory and ensure nothing disrupts their draw and that their draw remains consistent when presenting the weapon toward the target.
