More than 500 students from Bonaire toured a WC-130J flown by the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, better known as the “Hurricane Hunters,” April 22, 2015, during the Caribbean Hurricane Awareness Tour. The outreach program, which began in the 1970's and is a joint effort between National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Hurricane Center and the 403rd Wing's 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, promotes hurricane awareness and preparedness throughout the Caribbean region.
