A Kubasaki High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet models the uniform worn by the Marines who fought in the Battle of Derna during a Marine Corps birthday uniform pageant Nov. 8 aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. Led by Lt. Presley O’Bannon, Marines stormed the streets of Derna and seized the harbor fort with such speed that the fort defenders were forced to abandon their cannons loaded and primed but unfired.
