The setting sun and mountains of the Alaska Range serve as a unique background for U.S. Army paratroopers descending onto the Donnelly Drop Zone near Delta Junction, Alaska, Oct. 12, 2016. At 4,800 yards in length and 1,100 yards in width, the drop zone is a designated area with the Yukon Training Area where personnel and or equipment may be delivered by parachute or, in the case of certain items, by free drop.
