Crane Army Ammunition Activity provided the 983rd Engineering Battalion with several projects, one of which was a rails-to-road project, for their two week annual training. Because the mission was different from most construction projects the Soldiers had been tasked with, it required them to improvise and adapt during their training. Converting the rails to roads will provide CAAA with easier access to magazines that were previously only accessible by rail.
