A naval vessel's flight deck is covered in thick white firefighting foam during what appears to be a fire suppression drill or emergency response exercise. The foam blankets the entire deck surface and coats the island superstructure of what appears to be an amphibious assault ship or aircraft carrier. The scene is set at sea under overcast, cloudy skies.

180807-N-NB544-037 EAST CHINA SEA (Aug. 7, 2016) Aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) covers the flight deck during a system test on board amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). AFFF is a mixture of water and highly concentrated detergent used on the flight deck and hangar bay to smother fires. Bonhomme Richard is the flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
