180807-N-NB544-003 EAST CHINA SEA (Aug. 7,2016) Fireman Austin Tucker, from Midland, Texas, secures a valve during an aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) system test on the flight deck of amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). AFFF is a mixture of water and highly concentrated detergent used on the flight deck and hangar bay to smother fires. Bonhomme Richard is the flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group, forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
