A Kyrgyz babushka (Russian for older, grandmotherly, well-respected lady) watches the Victory Day ceremony in Manas Village, Kyrgyzstan, May 9, 2010. The mayor invited Col. Blaine Holt and Chief Master Sgt. James Dowell, the director and command chief for the Transit Center at Manas, to participate in the celebration of the end of the Nazi regime. During the event, a memorial wall was unveiled with about 50 names etched in stone of Manas patriots who died during the war.
