Cpl. Joseph J. Bennetti demonstrates how to properly throw a grenade from the prone position, July 26, 2016, on Motutapu Island, Tonga, during a multi-national, bilateral exercise involving U.S. Marines, Sailors and Tongan Soldiers, as part of Task Force Koa Moana’s deployment in the Asia-Pacific region. The service members began training with classes and static ranges, moving toward kinetic, live-fire ranges, incorporating assaultmen and engineers using explosives to breach obstacles, with assistance from combat rubber raiding crafts to operationalize USNS Sacagawea (T-AKE 2), to increase interoperability and relations. Bennetti, from the Bronx, New York, is a machinegunner with Task Force Koa Moana, originally assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
