160513-N-QW941-112 PACIFIC OCEAN (May 13, 2016) - Flight deck personnel aboard the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) await as personnel attached to Helicopter Sea Combat (HSC) Squadron 21 conduct preflight checks. Mercy is currently deployed in support of Pacific Partnership 2016; this year's mission is designed to emphasize multilateral cooperation and building mutual trust in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Medical, engineering and various other personnel embarked aboard Mercy will work side-by-side with host and partner nation counterparts, exchanging ideas, building best practices and relationships to ensure preparedness should disaster strike.
