GREAT LAKES, Ill. (March 4, 2016) – (Left to right) Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Michael Kelly and Cryptologic Technician (Maintenance) 1st Class Cody Bennett inform Zion- Benton Township (Illinois) High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) Cadet Capt. Jewel Nelson that she has just won an Armed Knockout drill event during the 2016 Area 3 West Regional Academic, Athletic and Drill competition at Recruit Training Command (RTC) here, March 5. More than 500 cadets from 15 Navy Junior ROTC units in Illinois and Minnesota participated in the two-day event. The knockout event is when cadets are judged on performing perfect facing movements.
