During the award ceremony following a friendly competition between Polish and American partners, Lt. Col. Rafal Ostrowski (right), deputy commander of the 12th Mechanized Brigade, Polish Army, presents awards to Pfc. Evan Mankin (left), Pfc. Kyle Narveson (second from left), Spc. Raymon Najera and Sgt. Troy Hill, all infantrymen assigned to K Troop, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, Jan. 27, in Konotop, Poland. Ten teams each from 3-2 Cavalry and the 3rd Battalion, 12th Mechanized Brigade, Polish Army, completed a two-mile ruck march for time before donning full protective gear and shooting targets for points toward their total score. Mankin’s team won first place among the American teams. Soldiers of 3-2 Cavalry have been conducting training with Polish allies in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a multinational demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies.
