Status of Forces Agreement personnel introduce themselves during an English class Nov. 5 at the Aeon Rycom Mall in Chatan, Okinawa, Japan. The class provided Okinawa residents with an opportunity to interact and improve their English through conversation with native English speakers. During the class, SOFA members divided into groups with the students, played word games and discussed American and Japanese vernacular. After the introductions, SOFA volunteers and students ate lunch and shopped together before returning to the classroom to discuss what they had learned. Marine Corps Installations Pacific strengthens relationships with our allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region; enables the strategic launch and recovery of military capabilities to save lives and to preserve regional peace, stability and security; and enables operating force readiness to guarantee victory.
