Lance Cpl. Raymond D. Javier, right center, and Lance Cpl. Samuel C. Allison, far right, explain American acronyms to Okinawa residents during an English class Nov. 5 at the Aeon Rycom Mall in Chatan, Okinawa, Japan. The class provided Okinawa students with an opportunity to interact and improve their English through conversation with native English speakers. During the class, SOFA members played word games with Okinawa residents and explained various cultural references and vernacular. After the classroom activities, SOFA volunteers and students divided into groups, ate lunch and shopped together before returning to the classroom to discuss what they had learned.
