    Multinational Battle Group-East hosts first U.S. Army 10-Miler Shadow Run in Kosovo

    U.S. Army Spc. Nathaniel Allen (left), a member of the North Carolina National Guard’s Alpha Company, 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 252nd Armor Regiment, out of Fayetteville, N.C., takes a photo with Col. Vernon Simpson, the commander of the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team and Multinational Battle Group-East, after Allen claimed first place in a U.S. Army 10-Miler Shadow Run, held Sept. 27, 2015, on Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. Allen completed the race with a time of 1:11:49. This was the first Army 10-Miler Shadow Run held on Camp Bondsteel, with more than 100 participants, including U.S. Army Soldiers and civilians in Kosovo, as well as Polish and Swiss service members. MNBG-E is a U.S.-led element of NATO’s Kosovo Force peace support mission in the region, currently serving as the 20th rotation of NATO troops since the late 1990s. The race was hosted by MNBG-E’s Southern Command Post, known as Task Force Hurricane, made up of U.S. Army aviation Soldiers from California, Connecticut and Florida. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
