Melissa Davenport, of Jacksonville, N.C., and a Marine spouse, displays a heart blanket she crafted for the Kaneohe Bay branch of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Sept. 22, 2015. The society provides volunteers with free yarn to craft layette items given to families who participate in the "Budgeting for Baby" class. Volunteers are also welcome to attend the society's monthly knitting and crocheting circle next scheduled at the branch, Oct. 15, 2015. The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society supports Marines, Sailors and their families with financial aid and free classes. The society as well as other civilian organizations located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii share the mission to provide facilities, programs and services in direct support of units, individuals and families in order to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
