    Staff Sgt. Sara Motyka, the aviation medical noncommissioned officer in charge from the Connecticut National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 169th Aviation Regiment, inserts a nasal phalange into a medical dummy during a Soldier and NCO of the Month competition held Sept. 4, 2015 on Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. Motyka and her unit are currently deployed to Kosovo as part of the Multinational Battle Group-East Southern Command Post. The competition, held monthly by MNBG-E’s senior NCOs, tested competitors physically and mentally through a 2.5-mile ruck march and land navigation test, among other tests and examinations.
