A Japanese Security Guard assigned to Camp Foster and Marines with the Provost Marshal’s Office aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, apprehend a Marine posing as a suspicious person, Aug. 14 during bilateral training between service members and the Okinawa Police Station. Marines conduct force protection training aboard installations worldwide to ensure proficiency in maintaining on-base security as well as communicating with outer entities. During the training event, the suspect attempted to enter the base after Japanese security guards ordered him to halt at the gate. The JSGs and PMO Marines practiced search and seizure methods and rehearsed notification and turnover procedures with the Okinawa Police Station.
