A Marine with the Provost Marshal’s Office aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, handcuffs a Marine posing as a suspicious person, Aug. 14 during bilateral training between service members and the Okinawa Police Station. Marines conduct force protection training aboard installations worldwide to ensure proficiency in maintaining on-base security as well as communicating with outer entities. During the training event, the suspect attempted to enter the base after PMO Marines received a “be on the lookout” alert with his description. Japanese security guards assigned to Camp Foster held him at the gate and practiced search and seizure procedures with PMO Marines, who rehearsed notification and turnover procedures with the Okinawa Police Station.
