Children attending the Survival in Nature Together Camp listen as 1st Lt. Andrew Evans explains the use and functions of a tourniquet during a community engagement visit to the camp held in Ergli, Latvia, July 17. The camp, which is run and funded primarily by Maris Olte, a Latvian television personality and explorer, provides nature experiences to youth from around the world. Evans, a member of the medical platoon, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade and a San Antonio native, along with Soldiers from 173rd Airborne Brigade are deployed throughout Eastern Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, an ongoing multinational partnership focused on joint training and security cooperation U.S. Army allies.
