Pfc. Matthew Goodwin, a Fairbanks, Alaska, native, demonstrates how to administer a splint with children attending the Survival in Nature Together Camp during a community engagement visit to the camp held in Ergli, Latvia, July 17. Goodwin, a member of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Infantry Brigade took part in the community project by providing basic medical training to the children in association with the U.S. Embassy in Riga, Latvia. U.S. Army Soldiers from 173rd Airborne Brigade are deployed throughout Eastern Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, an ongoing multinational partnership focused on joint training and security cooperation U.S. Army allies.
