Maj. Gen C.S. Sullivan, Director, Air Coordination Element sit in the cockpit of an F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to the "Fighting Redcocks" of Strike Fighter Squadron 22, as it prepares to launch off of the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Maj. Gen. Sullivan is visiting the aircraft carrier to observe Ronald Reagan and Carrier Air Wing 14 in the accomplishment of their mission in Afghanistan. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. Operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
