Lt. Gen. John E. Wissler answers a question about the U.S. military’s operation center in Kathmandu, Nepal, after an update brief about the U.S. relief operation in Nepal to international donors. “(If you) walk through the compound you’ll see a lot of people wearing uniforms that look like (mine), but you’ll also see our Air Force, our Army and our Navy counterparts who are a part of the Joint Task Force that are here to respond,” said Wissler. “Total Joint Task Force-505 is about 720 of our uniformed services personnel.” U.S. military members along with U.S. Agency for International Development and search and rescue teams from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Fairfax County, Virginia, came to the aid of Nepal after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck April 25.
