Christa Dirgins speaks to Gen. (Retired) Gordon R. Sullivan after the 7th Civil Support Command's building memorialization ceremony April 17, 2015, at Daenner Kaserne. Dirgins is the widow of the late Brig. Gen. Richard Dirgins, a former 7th Army Reserve Command commanding general, for whom the building is memorialized. Sullivan, the president of the Association of the United States Army, who served as the 32nd Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1993-1995, was the guest speaker. He and Richard Dirgins were classmates at Norwich University in Vermont. American and German military and officials attended the event.
