The memorial plaque for Sgt. Shawn M. Farrell II is hung in the lobby of the Army Reserve Center named for him following a memorialization ceremony March 7 in Saugerties, N.Y. Maj. Gen. Margaret W. Boor, commanding general of the Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command, hosted the event, which was attended by representatives for U.S. Congressman Chris Gibson and N.Y. State Senator George Amedore, as well as Maj. Gen. Glenn J. Lesniak, deputy chief, Army Reserve. Farrell was killed in action April 28, 2014, when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Nejrab District, Kapisa Province in Afghanistan. (Photo by Maj. Peter Lupo)
