Shawn M. Farrell II during a memorialization ceremony March 7 in Saugerties, N.Y., that named the Army Reserve Center there for Farrell. Boor hosted the event, which was attended by representatives for U.S. Congressman Chris Gibson and N.Y. State Senator George Amedore, as well as Maj. Gen. Glenn J. Lesniak, deputy chief, Army Reserve. Farrell was killed in action April 28, 2014, when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Nejrab District, Kapisa Province in Afghanistan.
