    Chaplain Cmdr. Herbert Griffin and commanding officer, Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate USS Thach Cmdr. David Haas, stand bye as a wreath is laid over the side of the ship during a ceremony honoring the Sailors and Marines who fought and died at the Battle of Midway. Thach's namesake, Adm. Jimmy Thach, was one of the many heroes at the battle from June 5-7, 1942. Thach is currently on a routine deployment in the Western Pacific.
