The rifle detail on board the Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate USS Thach prepares to fire three volleys during a burial at sea ceremony for Cmdr. (Ret.) Dale Simmons. Simmons was one of Adm. Jimmy Thach's, the ship's namesake, former wingmen and the two flew several missions together. USS Thach is currently on a routine deployment in the Western Pacific.
