    III Marine Expeditionary Force

Capt. Christopher Corbeille, an Osprey pilot , reviews capabilities of the MV-22B Osprey with members of the Japan Self-Defense Force Feb. 12 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. The Japan Observer Exchange Program gives Marines and sailors with the III Marine Expeditionary Force and members of the JSDF the opportunity to observe the training of their counterparts in order to increase mutual understanding and interoperability. The Osprey is a flexible, vertical lift, assault support aircraft that can operate from ship, shore, and expeditionary locations. Because of the speed and range of the aircraft, it can provide fixed-wing aircraft support with the ability to take off like a helicopter. Corbeille is a Huntsville, Alabama, native with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III MEF. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
