A soldier with the Canadian Royal 22nd Regiment watches for oppositional forces in a simulated, early-morning raid during the annual multinational exercise Bold Alligator, Nov. 7, 2014, on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. The two-hour raid pitted Norwegian, Canadian, British and Dutch forces against U.S. Marines roleplaying as enemy combatants in an urban training area. Bold Alligator is a scenario-driven, simulation-supported, amphibious assault exercise and is the largest exercise held on the East Coast.
