This infographic from SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement displays the global places of origin for international students pursuing STEM courses of study in the United States. A world map is color-coded by continent, with pie charts showing the percentage of STEM students originating from each region. Asia leads with 40%, followed by Africa at 36%, North America at 21%, Europe and South America both at 17%, and Australia & Pacific Islands at 16%.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) released “SEVIS by the Numbers,” a quarterly report of international students studying in the United States. The October 2014 report is based on data from the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), a Web-based system that includes information on international students, exchange visitors and their dependents while they are in the United States. It includes a special section on international students from India.
