The newly completed structure build by the Seabees of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5 for the Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) to be used as their Combat Command Compound for continuing operations in Southern Afghanistan stands proudly on Camp Leatherneck. NMCB 5 is currently deployed to Afghanistan in support of NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and is one of the Naval Expeditionary Combat Commands warfighting support elements providing host nation construction support and security.
