Pvt. Brandon Whitler (right), a New Albany, Ind., native and infantryman in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade pedals past the starting line at the 2014 Estonian 1st Infantry Brigade Cross Country Cycling Competition held Aug. 19 in Paldiski, Estonia. The Estonian Defense Forces’ Single Scouts Infantry Battalion loaned bikes to Whitler and three other paratroopers from Company B so they could compete against their host nation partners in this 20-km race along Paldiski’s scenic terrain. Company B is one of several units from the 173rd Airborne Brigade deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, an exercise dedicated to demonstrating commitment to NATO obligations and maintaining interoperability with allied forces.
