Pfc. Mario A. Finke, a West New York, N.J., native and supply specialist in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade pedals across a rocky path during the 2014 Estonian 1st Infantry Brigade Cross Country Cycling Competition held Aug. 19 in Paldiski, Estonia. Fink and three other paratroopers represented the first American team in Estonian Defense Forces’ history to race against mountain bike enthusiasts from Estonia’s military and law enforcement agencies on this 20-km course along Paldiski’s peninsula. Company B is one of several units from the 173rd Airborne Brigade deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, an exercise dedicated to demonstrating commitment to NATO obligations and maintaining interoperability with allied forces.
