Three military personnel in Army Combat Uniforms (ACU) are working at a marina with a gray inflatable rubber boat. Two soldiers wearing red life vests are aboard or leaning over the boat, handling a yellow inflatable boom or barrier device in the water. The scene appears to be a training exercise or environmental containment operation at a civilian marina.

Soldiers of the 824th Transportation Company (Heavy Watercraft) quickly responded to an explosion of a 28-foot fishing boat that occurred at the civilian side of the North Carolina State Port in Morehead City on April 3. They assisted in first aid and damage control until civilian authorities arrived. Here a spillage response boom is secured to prevent further contamination of the water by fuel and other possible hazardous material. The explosion occurred just prior to a ribbon cutting ceremony that was to celebrate the rebuilding of their pier that had been destroyed during Hurricane Irene. Pictured here are Staff Sgt. Bryan Hanlon, left, and Warrant Officer Candidate Robert Wallace.
