A group of U.S. Army soldiers in desert camouflage (DCU) uniforms are participating in what appears to be a military ceremony, likely a change of command or colors presentation. A soldier identified by nametape as 'CIOTOLA' is centrally engaged in an exchange or handshake with another soldier. The scene takes place outdoors at what appears to be a forward operating base, with concrete barriers, gravel ground, and a U.S. flag and unit guidon visible.

Command Sgt. Maj. Neil Ciotola, 1st Cavalry Division, assumed his new appointment as the highest enlisted Soldier in the division, during a change of responsibility ceremony at Camp Cooke, Iraq, Aug. 28. Ciotola was the command sergeant major for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team prior to his new appointment as the command sergeant major of the division. During the ceremony, Ciotola received the division colors, passed down to him from Division Commander Maj. Gen. Peter Chiarelli. The passing of the colors represents the change of responsibility from the acting command sergeant major of the division, Command Sgt. Maj. Gerald Schindler to Ciotola. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Merrion LaSonde, 122nd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment)
