Spc. Stephen Nix guards the entrance to an Iraqi Police station, where his platoon leader and company commander were meeting with IP leaders about Al Sadrs militia. Nix is a member of Company A, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment. As a part of Task Force Tomahawk, three battalions from the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) were sent 500 kilometers away from their area of operations in Ninevah Province to stabilize the Al Wasit area. Al Sadrs militia overran and destroyed several government buildings in the region. Since arriving to the area, the Stryker Brigade Soldiers have worked with the Iraqi Police and Iraqi National Guard to secure the area. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Fred Minnick)
