USSOCOM Warrior Care Program (Care Coalition)

The U.S. Special Operations Command Warrior Care Program, known as the Care Coalition, provides advocacy and non medical support services to Special Operations Forces wounded, ill, or injured service members and their families. Established in 2005, the program assists warriors and families in navigating recovery, rehabilitation, reintegration, and transition after life changing events, whether returning to operational status, moving into a new role, or transitioning to veteran status, thereby strengthening overall SOF readiness.

In 2013 the Care Coalition became the fifth Congressionally recognized Warrior Care Program in the Department of Defense and was granted Service like authority to deliver these critical services. Headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, the program operates globally with Recovery Care Coordinators and liaisons embedded at major military treatment facilities and Department of Veterans Affairs Polytrauma Rehabilitation Centers. It serves the total force, active duty, reserve component, veterans, and their families, and is the largest such program in the DoD. The Care Coalition embodies the SOF Truth that Humans Are More Important Than Hardware and the ethos that no one cares like SOF cares.
